Max Rayner, partner at Hudson Crossing, talks with Betty Liu about the potential impact of the Ebola Virus on the travel industry
The World Health Organisation on Tuesday warned that the number of Ebola
cases in west Africa
could surpass 1.4 million by January.
It said the disease could also become endemic.
While health has been the main focus, Bloomberg has explored other areas of
impact such as the tourism industry and how the deadly disease has compared
to previous world outbreaks.
Max Rayner, partner at Hudson Crossing, said: "Ebola is definitely worse
in part because of a lack of infrastructure and capability in the infected
countries.
"The outbreak of Asian flu in Asia
is dramatic, it gave a body low to the economy of the area. Those countries
were able to react quickly.
